10,000 years
of history

Whether it is the 10,000 years of settlement (which is still very much in the present through the many archaeological wonders scattered around the islands), the stunning landscape, close proximity to nature, the colours and light, or that more intangible Orkney magic, the islands are an endless source of inspiration to its artists and crafts people. Inspiration which we, at Aurora, continue to draw on to create new pieces, which capture our customers’ imagination. Click here to browse our beautifully designed jewellery...

Master Craftsman

Steven Cooper’s passion for jewellery making started while he was still in school, 25 years ago. After developing his skills as a master craftsman and his own unique flair for design and technique he set up Aurora Jewellery in 1998.

Steven works closely with Aurora’s designers, Teresa Shearer and Emma Thomson, to prepare all of the master patterns using traditional methods, creating unique pieces of jewellery, each bringing a freshness of design together with outstanding quality of craftsmanship.
